Re: another thought
Several years back, it turned out that my now 24 year old daughter was one of three in her high school history class who
knew anything about the Civil War. She has now graduated from college with a degree in, of course, history, which I honestly did
not encourage due to employment issues. She is now working part time with a group who is working on what is called the Fort Lincoln
Festival- April 28- in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas which was a huge Union base of operations on the White River in Arkansas. It is listed on facebook, so feel free to check it out.
Now please understand that to my knowledge, no one wore blue during that time.
But history is history and my daugher take pride in and knows hers because I taught her.
So my message is, that is my opinion is, if you want your kids to know, you honestly have to teach it yourself.
