Re: Last casualty... a snapping turtle?

Well, it is obvious y'all have not fallen for my annual April Fool's Day tall tale. I did better a couple of years ago when I lied and said I learned I was kin to Abraham Lincoln. Maybe I should skip a couple of years?

For what it is worth Joe is closer to the truth than maybe we know. It is true some animals may live far longer life spans than we do. I got the story of the flint tip arrowheads from what I believe to be the truth, at least as I recall hearing the tales. Maybe that was itself a tall tale told to entertain young kids but some folks have written about it on the internet. That doesn't make it true but it does mean I wasn't the only one to hear the story. The story of the harpoon tip in the whale I stole from the internet.

I guess I'll have to do some tall praying for telling this stinker. Jim Martin may report me to the vatican itself and Brother Alan Pitts may stop fellowshpping with me :-)

But before anybody turns me over to the evil one I say in my defense this thread was started to share a laugh with my friends. I consider each of you to be just that, my friend!

P.S... I felt it better to confess before Pam got involved. She may have dented a skillet on my noggin"
