Question for Alan Pitts

The Creole Guards (1862 version) belonged to the 9th Brigade Alabama Militia-

"HEADQUARTERS 9TH BRIGADE A.M.
Mobile February 12, 1862
GENERAL ORDER NO. 14

The CREOLE GUARDS having organized as a Volunteer Military Company, and elected the following Officers, said Company is accepted as a Volunteer Company in pursuance of Special Order No. 13, and will constitute Company A of the Creole Volunteers:

Captain - F. J. Barnard
1st Lieutenant -- Ovide Gregory
2nd Lieutenant - J. B. Guicon

Capt. Barnard will report directly to these Headquarters.

By command of THOS. J. BUTLER, Brig. Gen. Comdg. 9th Brigade A.M.
T. A. HAMILTON, Asst. Adjt. General"

Mobile Advertiser and Register, February 14, 1862

This brigade was in Confederate service from March 12 to May 4, 1862 (see record of Thomas J. Butler, Alabama Compiled Service Records-Miscellaneous).

Question: Were the Creole Guards included in this service...or excluded?
