Re: Government spends $14M to raise the CSS Georgi

Why thank you. I very excited about the raising of the Georgia, and most probably more Civil War ships will be recovered because of what is happening. The Panama Canal is expanding and will be capable of passing through its gates ships of much larger size than it's used to. This effects the shipping trade all over the Gulf and the Eastern seaboard. Most harbors will have to expand in depth and size to handle the new specifications. That means many submerged artifacts, declared protected by law, will now have to be moved. I'm hoping the USS Tecumseh will be moved, it is supposed to be the most well perserved of all the sunkin ironclads and holds a wealth of artifacts.
