If he obtained the stones through legal means, I guess it's ok. The guy at Barrancas knew what he did was illegal and from what I understand he's not able to be a 'federal' employee again (Wouldn't surprise me if he was working in DC though) even though the stones he took were replaced, he knew the deal. Some people collect gravestones.

I guess it's not as bad as the group of civic minded folk who decided years ago to clean up historic St Michael's Cemetery here in town. It was before it was placed on the Historic Treasure registry. They rounded up all of the fallen, moldy, broken stones and hauled them to the dump. I wonder if that's why I can't find a few of my ancestors?
