My 93 year old relative recently gave me a picture of an ancestor in a Confederate uniform. Her great aunt gave it to her years ago and told her it was Fayette Mizell. The collar is covered by his beard but there is braid on the uniform sleeves.

I have tried all the databases and cannot find a Fayette Mizell or a Lafayette Mizell. The Mizells were from AL, GA and FL.

Is there another name that Fayette would be a nickname for?

I think I have seen this picture before in an old book but can't be sure.

Any ideas where to look? Tried Fold3, NPS, Civil War database, Ancestry, Rootsweb and Genforum. Nothing comes up in a Google search.
