The Southern Cross captures the brave Charley McNeil standing resolutely on one of the twelve pounders of Randol's battery, June 30th 1862. Around him swirls the most savage combat of the Civil War as the men of the famed Pennsylvania Reserves rush forward in a vain attempt to save the battery.
