I read all military history, not just the Civil War. I just finished a great work- Shattered Sword: The Untold Story of the Battle of Midway. This is how military history should be covered. There are many ideas and theories on how a great military power can lose a battle that it should have clearly won. I recommend this book for all military historians- and use it like a tool to dissect those battles that have you mystified about- sure makes it clearer.
