To me the telling evidence is there are no stories of mobs in the Charleston papers. I looked them over from the time Anderson reported to Charleston until he retreated to Fort Sumter-- nothing. The only comment on mobs came from an opinion piece, several days prior to Anderson move, denigning the people of Charleston ever gather into mobs- stating such accusations as lies. Add this fact to the known O.R. information and the pattern reveals itself.
