Are you looking at both service files for this soldier. There are seventeen records for R R Chaddick in Miscellaneous. Pay receipts in both files cover the entire period, July 1, 1863 through June 30, 1864. He's a blacksmith paid 40 cents a day until March 1864, 25 cents from that time forward. There are two records from 1862 which list 25 cents a day. May be that blacksmiths were paid at a higher rate than teamsters.

Records for July, August and October 1863 mention deduction of 4 Sundays. Witnesses to pay are Lts M A Nelson, J J Gobean (or Gobeau), J B Day and John J Hartt.

Looks as if this man was assigned to Anderson's Brigade after returning from wounded furlough, date of order Mar 25, 1863. He could not have been on detail and serving with the regiment when wounded at Murfreesboro TN, Dec 31, 1862.
