Re: New PBS Civil War Documentary Coming

Joe Allport-
"I watched the last 40 minutes, God help me. A few statististics about dead soldiers, Union views about justifying the invasion, and some tired 20th Century political bias. Not worthy of an historical documentary, but par for PBS."

Agree.

It had all the requisite slave-baiting and race-baiting comments typical of a PBS program.

Of the two hours about 15 minutes were devoted to the Confederate side.

Description of black troops at Fort Pillow: "two-thirds were killed after they surrendered" -false on both counts.

and "the bodies were thrown into the Wichita River."

Wichita River!? Did I hear that right?

I believe it was the Coldwater River...and no bodies were thrown in.
