Mention of "Wichita River" really got my attention. How did a production content editor miss THAT one? If basic elements of the story are wrong, then we should be pleased to find only a small number of lesser issues (like the casualty rate and the number of dead at Fort Pillow).

It's also troublesome that Frederick Douglas gave the requiem for the Confederacy. Maybe Jefferson Davis should have spoken about the Federal war effort and the Northern dead. Or, in response to Frederick Douglas, someone could recite the words of "I'm A Good Old Rebel?"

“300,000 Yankees is stiff in Southern dust! / We got 300,000 before they conquered us. / They died of Southern fever and Southern steel and shot. / I wish they was three million instead of what we got.”

If they're going to quote Frederick Douglas on the Confederacy, one of the above would be fair and balanced for the Federal cause.
