Re: Lynyrd Skynyrd and the "Flag"
In Response To: Lynyrd Skynyrd and the "Flag" ()

This info came to my attention earlier this week. I am so proud of Skynyrd for remaining unreconstructed and true to their fanbase. It's time for us to stand up for our heritage and not back down.

Some of you already know, and I haven't 'talked' about it yet on the boards but I had to design and order our grave marker. I lost my best friend and husband (of 47 years) in June to cancer. All of you have 'heard' me say I'd have a Battle Flag when I made my exit. When I got the call a couple of days ago the marker was in and had been placed I flew out to the cemetery. On my side, under my name, in bronze is a Battle Flag. My family and friends said that was just what they expected from "the family Rebel" and they liked it. I hope in some future generation there will be at least one person who is interested in the family tree. The symbols and the words on the marker should give them a clue to what we thought important and we make no apology for it.
