And in 1860 those same people were wishing they had voted different in 1850, so they had a Secession anyway. Had they done it 10 years earlier, there was no Republican Party and there would have been no invasion. They were not ignorant or wrong, they simply did not forsee that the Northern centralizers would up the anty.
