True Joe. I really hadn't thought of east Texas in that light but that's because I haven't been there. I ought to know better. They pretty much got all of the yellow pine from this area. At one point, we had 15 or more mills at the same time. On my drive to work each morning, I go through Millview and when the tide is out on Perdido Bay, the signs of many of those mills are still there. There are so many 'non native's' now they do not understand those post were for mills. They think a hurricane took out a lot of boat docks. I have read one of my Mom's cousin's story about the work he did at one mill when he was a young teen and it was brutal work for anyone.
