Re: Lincoln: the Man, not the Movie
The movie is an adaptation of " Doris Kearns Goodwin's "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln." Although there may be disagreements regarding her interpretation and conclusions, it is non-fiction, not a novel. I haven't seen the movie yet, but have seen some assessments of it which address some historically inaccurate or questionable moments. As far as those aspects go, it is probably best to remember that this is historical drama, not a documentary. Daniel Day-Lewis apparently spent quite a bit of time in Springfield at the Old State House, Lincoln Home NHS and the Presidential Museum and Library preparing for the role and by all accounts delivers an amazing performance. Can't wait to see it next weekend.
