My post was in response to others previous posts that Lincoln did not care for the whiteman north, or south. And another previous post that Lincoln is responsible for big, intrusive federal government. Its thought merely flows with this thread, and another.

Just seems Lincoln gets blamed for everything. And the blame is based on myths and not facts. Or when based on facts it is due to the position Lincoln took at various stages of the war. I think it would be more accurate for discussion if we define Lincoln as Pre-war Lincoln, Wartime Lincoln, and Post-war Lincoln.

I think a reason behind the myths was possibly caused by the re-teaching of history in our public schools. The re-teaching to brainwash our children on how to think in todays America which was reshaped by the civil rights movement in the 1960's.

Too many myths going around about history. Much of it through way of force either publicly, or through laws. This force does not mean it is right. But, it becomes accepted as fact over time only because it was forced through the times.
