Re: Lincoln: the Man, not the Movie
The provocation for this thread was a mythical movie that is allegedly based upon an accurate historical portrait of Lincoln. Some may think of it as a political arguement while I take offense at the history revision. People on both sides suffered, but Southerners lost many more lives proportionately; much of their property was destroyed or confiscated; and people of all races suffered economic hardships as a direct result of this needless war for generations. Lincoln was no hero to my people, then or no and I do not appreciate propogandists like Speilberg, Carl Sandberg, or Bill O'Reilly trying to indoctrinate my children or grandchildren. So, I disagree with them.
