Dana Andrews, Hollywood Actor, 40s-50s

The famous actor Dana Andrews, was born in Collins, Mississipppi, his mothers father, James Monroe Speed Jr., served in Company C, 13th Alabama Infantry for 4 years, never wounded or captured. He joined on July 19, 1861, and was a hospital steward. He later moved to Texas after the war and became a doctor. His last wife, Lola, received a Confederate pension until her death on August 8, 1966.

There is probably information on his father's father's service (David William Anderson), of Holmes County, Florida, but I have not located it yet .
