Steamboat Arabia Museum

I was in Kansas City last weekend and I visited the Arabia Steamboat museum. I have to recommed this all Civil War reenactors. The amount of unused and perfectly preserved pre-Civil War everyday items is astounding. There is so much material that they are now talking about moving the museum to a much larger place to show it all. Amoung the items are two prefrabricated houses ordered by some settlers. It is like walking into a 1856 Home Depot. Clothing items too...dozens of boots and shoes, bolts of cloth, thousands of buttons, hats....its amazing.

Something I did not know. They had samples of the shirts worn by border ruffians, or battle shirts. Apparently these items were not only made at home but were store bought.
