Re: Will America remain one nation?

David

I believe that the handwritting is on the Wall. We are reliving 1860 all over again. Where one element of the populas seems to be determined to impose their collective will over the not so compliant. This is the mistake of history that we have not taught the real reason for that war. As a result we (I fear) are doomed to repeat the same mistake.

A Civil War is the most inevitable conflict that any nation will face. For it is the struggle of right and wrong and of power and self determination. Just because we have fought one such war does not mean that we can not have another. 30% of people survey in a recent poll said that they believed the an armed conflict would be necessary to preserve our Liberties in the future. That represents the attitude of 90,000,000 people? Even if that number is not true what troubles would even 1% of that number be able to cause?

But you asked if this country can remain one nation?

My answer has to be NO.

Not because of internal conflicts, althought that may well be the path before us. We may be able to avoid that path. But the one path I believe that we will not be able to avoid is the collapes of the United States Dollar and our economy. Our National debt has places us at the mercy of the world monitary markets which are controled by our enemies. What will happen when the checks bounce?

At that time I believe that each state will be fighting for their individual economic survival and the Union will be just a distant memory.
