I liked what one of the posted said... that the reason that peace and harmony lasted as long as it has was because of the unwritten agreement between North and South. The South would acknowledge the way the war ended was a good thing and the North would acknowledge the South and its leaders fought justly and honorably- (that all were American patriots "my input"). And without both ideas neither could stand-- peace and harmony will not last.
