The current MOC could be an oasis of history and culture in the middle of the MCV-VCU complex. But as Frederick says Richmond wants nothing to do with it's heritage and history. Shame. This merger is all about money. Period. The MOC has been run like the Country Club of Virginia since yankee scalawag Waite Rawls took the healm. The MOC is a farce. The Appomattox "branch" even refuses to fly any Confederate flags on it's property. This is a political ploy to bury Southern Heritage with the politically correct pro-slavery agenda. Even the plans for a new baseball stadium in Shockoe Bottom includes plans for a slave history museum. The MOC will split it's collection with The American Civil War Center and The Virginia Historical Society. State or Federal.....the agenda is the same. Local residents demanded that the A.P. Hill Monument be removed from it's present location until they found out that there was a body buried there. Then they shut up. This is a racially motivated mess. Most of the MOC's holdings are "on loan" from private contributors. They should demand that their property be returned.
