Re: Museum of the Confederacy closing

I hate it but I see it as another Edsel. Support is falling off because those who actually studied or even heard of the 'real' Confederacy are dying off. We have younger generations with no knowledge of that era except that's when "Mr. Lincoln freed all of the slaves" Not my choice of words but from an elementary textbook. That's where we are losing interest. If you think this is a disaster for our history, wait til ya see common core. >(

Unless WE keep talking about it, all real knowledge and interest are not going to be known by the inhabitants of earth. On the 'up' side though, I've noticed a lot of interest and hear a lot of questions on that era from students when the subject is brought up and discussion is opened by, well just say, a substitute teacher who thinks it's still important.
