I am certain we all know men who have or had serious PTSD issues long after the end of their service. Growing up, my brother and I learned not to ever bring a cap gun or a balloon into the house and most importantly, do not let the wind slam the kitchen door shut. How sad to come home after losing that War for Independence, enduring the economic devastation, struggling to provide for one's family and having untreated PTSD. Those veterans must have felt very isolated.
