Ok. The photograph I mentioned earlier is of Brig. General James F. Slaughter and his staff, cir. 1862-63, including four Black "aids" in full Confederate uniform. I know its in the book "Civil War & Revolution on the Rio Grande Frontier" but I cannot get to it now.
