Black Laborers and Craftsmen in the South

Here is a book I intend to read when I get enough time. 'The Confederate Negro; Virginia's craftsmen and military laborers, 1861-1865'.

The contribution of black people, free and slave, was invaluable and necessary for the Confederate Army to accomplish so much. No offense to anyone, but I am much more interested in this subject than how many blacks took up arms.
