I am certain this woman got her info off of Wiki, then twisted it. Wiki focuses entirely on Thompson's editorial without actually looking into all the other references to the origin of the flag, neglecting to note Thompson's claim is questionable and many others came up with the same "design"- his name never mentioned in official documents. Also interesting is the quoted dates of the Savannah Morning News do not exist (for the year 1863) online for some reason... 1850 to 1880 all are online and searchable...1863 is somehow missing. At every turn I run into brick walls on their sources.
