Colonel Hiram Bledsoe *PIC*

I went for a bike ride today down at Pleasant Hill, Missouri. It was a pleasant thrill to find this historical marker at the train depot dedicated to one of Pleasant Hills famous citizens, Colonel Hiram Bledsoe, commander of the one of the most famous army artillery batteries of the Civil War, Bledsoe's Missouri Artillery. I researched his unit many years ago trying to determine types and models of artillery types in his command. He fought in many of the western theater engages from Missouri to Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia to the Carolinas. He had a distinguished career. He is buried at the town cemetery with a simple CSA marker.
