I have done ancestry research for about 7 years now. On several hospital records (Civil War) I read tragic diagnosis and prognosis of the soldiers.

There was often self inflicted wounds. On young man stabbed his chest while in the hospital. He died. But, I found out later he was finally honored on the city's huge memorial monument along with the other towns soldiers that die. I felt happy for him to be honored.
