There are those that say the Confederate Government "by law", forbade the enlistment of Blacks. Was there indeed such a law ? If so, what did it specifically say ? When it's pointed out there were provisions with pay for cooks, laborers, musicians, and teamsters, their response usually will be "they weren't really soldiers", then they come back with "enlisting Blacks was against Confederate policy". What policy ????
