Ok I know that this is going to sound vague but please bare with me for a moment. I'm looking for a letter to the editor that was written by a old man to The Baltimore Sun. He talks about his grate grandfather who wrote a letter to his grate grandmother before going to fight and unfortunately die at Gettysburg. In his letter he basically says that if he thought he was living in those conditions for slavery he'd desert the army and go home. I'm trying to find out his name, rank, and company. Does anyone know what i'm talking about? Please help if you can.
