Great weapon, just not enough produced less than 3000 made of these about 2500 made it into Confederate service. It wasn't considered very accurate but deadly at close range. The first model made in America had problems so to improve them production was moved to France and those had to run the Union blockade to get to the south. I'm not sure of their cost but that may have played a role in production and sale. This was not a pistol for the average soldier.
