Mike,

Four branches of my PawPaw's family moved to northern Tyler County in the mid 1840's. The name of that community was Billiams Creek. That was the subject place of my story at the top of this thread. The other communities (which do not actually exist as towns anymore) are Peachtree Village and Mount Hope. The nearest town is Chester. The other places went away when the railroad came in the late 19th Century. Thus, Chester was named after President Arthur.
Back to your question. Billiams Creek is adjacent to Peach Tree Village and one or the other would have had a post office. Evidently it was Billiams. I live in Nacogdoches County, but one of my cousins owns a 600 acre pasture with an old home on Billiams Creek. I have a few cousins in Woodville and several more in Chester. The family cemetery is between Chester and Peach Tree Village.
My family names are Seamans, Smith, Durdin and Willson.
Joe
