Residence College Farm IA; 19 years old.
Enlisted on 6/24/1861 as a Private.
On 7/15/1861 he mustered into "B" Co. IA 5th Infantry
He was discharged for promotion on 2/8/1864 at Vicksburg, MS
On 2/8/1864 he was commissioned into "B" Co. US CT 49th Infantry
He was Mustered Out on 3/22/1866
Promotions:
* 1st Lieut 2/8/1864 (As of Co. B 49th USCT Infantry)
* Capt 1/28/1865 (As of Co. C)
Intra Regimental Company Transfers:
* 1/28/1865 from company B to company C
born in Illinois
