This is a letter I wrote to several elected. It is a result of Sen Kaine asking Sen. Tom Price about his support of Georgia's Confederate History Month Resolution which did not not include slavery. In answering Sen. Price sort of stumbled over a non-answer. Ladies and gentlemen we have our work cut out for us.
Due to comments Trump made at the Black History Museum in Washington, I will be writing a letter to him also.

Secretary Price,
My wife and I watched you question Representative Tom Price on his nomination by President Trump to head the Health and Human Services department. I was appalled to see you question Representative Price about his support of Georgia’s Confederate History Month and its failure to mention slavery. Why should the resolution mention slavery?
In my opinion a question of that nature just suggests the lack of historical knowledge and/or a biased view of the war. Surely anyone who has studied the issues of the war know that slavery had nothing to do with the war. That statement can be proven true by historical records of the period.
That being said I challenge you to get what you deem the best four historians available to you. When you have assembled your team and I have assembled my team of the same number a total of five each, we will debate you on the floor of the Senate. We will prove our point. The prize, a federally recognized celebration of Confederate History Month. I only ask of you to keep the debate and voting fair and unbiased.
I have in the past submitted a copy of a Confederate History Resolution to the Mississippi representatives. Sad to say, they did not have the knowledge or the backbone to try and move this issue forward. To be honest, I am willing to bet the same is true today. I will forward this resolution to any and all parties who may want to read it. It follows the resolution for BLACK HISTORY MONTH very close. By the way, don’t you find this federal recognition of one race somewhat RACIST??? You do know that a Confederate History Month will honor ALL races that were present in the United States at that period of time???
Now, speaking of Black History Month, why does the Federal Government practice racism? I was in the Veterans Center in Biloxi, Mississippi and I noticed several placards dedicated solely to Black History month. I am curious how much money was wasted on this material that only a select few care about? Wouldn’t the money be better spent on the nineteen trillion dollar debt? Would it better serve men and women of ALL races who served in the armed forces of the United States, if it was spent on services for them???
I know the reasons behind Black History Month, so is it your point that whites have not contributed anything to this country worth mentioning? Confederates or ex-Confederates?
I also bring to your attention the holiday Martin L. King. What do you really know about him??? Is he really worth having a holiday named after him? In the whole history of this country is there not one white who is worthy of a Federal recognized holiday? Don’t even mention the war criminal Lincoln. Let’s talk about honest and honorable men like Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and James Longstreet, or Joe Wheeler perhaps.
I am really curious how many replies I get. I am not talking about the canned responses that you folks usually send out. I am talking about honest to goodness, thought out replies. The smart money says none.
