Thanks George. I did not request the rounded top headstone, but I did author the unallowed wording, so I consider that a fair offset. I don't believe any Yankees are going to sit on top of the marker. And I don't give a damn how or why the military misspelled his name.
Note, 10 of the 12 cards in his file record his surname as Durdan, however, a handwritten voucher for commutation of rations for 14 days, February 11, 1863, is recorded and signed
