He had his finger on the pulse on the rise of the middle class in the deep South in the late 1850s. His feelings on the conduct of Abraham Lincoln turned my head to thinking differently on how Southerners reacted to Fort Sumter".
Those living at that time had a much different perspective than the modern day historical revisionists. The latter just can't, or won't, consider that.
