Re: Battle of Williamsport on July 6, 1863

Prior to reconstruction there was no segregation of the races in the slave South. There was class placement, for everyone had a station in life at birth, but they all lived, worked, worshiped, and died together. The first African slaves in Virginia, worked and lived with white slaves from Great Britain who greeted them.
