Mr. Hall and I had discussed the possible identity of the old gentleman. He even enlarged the photo of Dan so we could read his reunion badges and maybe find a clue to where he was from. I was finally able to find him in the census, and reported to Hall what I found. Going by the census records, I personally doubt he served. In the film, "Forgotten Men In Gray". He's shown at the 75th Gettysburg reunion in 1938, where he says he would be "81 years old next August". That would make him only 6 years old in 1863. Hope this helps.
