George, Just glancing through it quickly one issue stood out when the card stated this:

"A card from the U.S.A., General Hospital, Nashville, Tenn shows that James was admitted Feb. 10, 1865 with a simple fl. Rt thigh (slg (?).
There is a place on this card for listing missile, it is filled in Can. Ball"

The Union doctors especially during this time period and place used the word Can. Ball when in fact it was a conical ball which is another word for minie ball.

I'll try to see if I can add anything a bit later. It was usually a two day journey from the Military Prison at Louisville, Kentucky to Columbus, Ohio in which Camp Chase was four miles to the west. The prisoners did arrive from Cincinnati to Columbus by train and then marched to Camp Chase. On some occasions the wounded were taken by wagon.
