Dennis, As far as I can tell you have a good handle on James Pittman's service record. One glaring mistake I do not, the town should be Columbia in Marion Co. not Columbus. This is the area of SW Mississippi that "sits" on top of the Louisiana shelf.

The story of The Battle of Anthony's Hill is also told in H. Grady Howell's book, "To live and Die in Dixie." Working from a weak memory here, I believe you are absolutely correct in your narrative about the battle. Great Job!!!!

BTW I did not know there were numbered POW camps at Camp Chase. Were they all located in one big camp???? Was these hospital camps?????

At one time Jamie Roberts had a website about the 7th Miss. up with some photos, I cannot seem to locate it now. Perhaps Ron Skellie will visit here and give us some directions???
