George, I believe I have found him at the Camp Chase Prison. He will be listed at ancestry POW Record number 23582 of 54896. There are four columns on this page. His name is listed as Jas. A. Pitman with one T in the surname and he is in column 3 toward the bottom of column three. This is also based upon the premise there is only one Jas. A. Pitman in the Camp Chase prison system at this time.

He does not have a prison number associated with his name however the name above his was with prison number 3. From my experience there were ditto marks if a prisoner was in the same numbered prison however I can't see any ditto marks and can only assume the ditto marks were too light to be seen on ancestry when they took the photograph. I might be able to see them on the original records at the NARA in DC but I'm no longer there.

Prison number 3 would have been the most eastern side of Camp Chase or toward Columbus. A few tunneling attempts were made at Prison 3 but none successfully as far as I know.
