Dennis, I was wondering if there might be more info on Pvt. James Pittman, of the 3rd Miss. We both know he was a POW at Chase and released AFTER the war. I am curious about his time in the hospital, and after being released from that facility.

My family were from Marion county. There was an older brother, right now I would have to look up his name, but a Pittman in the 3rd, I believe that is the reason James went with that unit. May have been a bad mistake on his part.

Another family I would like to more info on is the Oliver's of the Wirt Adams brigade. There are two who are listed as C.L. Oliver-- Cyrus Lofton and Cornelius Lugurgious(sp). neither really have a service record, only a cover sheet, but Cornelius has a pension file, which I have. He is my gg- grandfather. I am certain of his pension because Cyrus did not survive the war and because of Cornelius's wife's name.

I had fold 3 at one time, reaped all the info I could from that site. Thought maybe the archives may hold more. Not really sure so I thought I would ask.

BTW would you like a photo of Pvt. James Pittman taken before the war? It si a group photo of all the Pittman brothers of the 7th Miss. Maybe I can figure a way to post here????
