Colonel Charles Frederick Fisher was killed at the Battle of 1st Manassas while leading the 6th North Carolina Infantry and according to Wikipedia Fort Fisher, in Wilmington, North Carolina was named after him. Sorry if this is old news to some of you but it was something I had not known.
