I totally disagree with the idea of treason for Confederates. There is nothing in the Constitution that says secession is illegal, which is the idea most supporters of Lincoln base their opinions on. Also all Confederate states had to apply to be readmitted to the United States. If they had "never left" then why the need to be readmitted? Somewhere there must be more docs or speeches that support Genl. Logan's citizenship comment, I just have no clue where to look.
