J.S.Harvey 1st South Carolina. CWData has him as a private in the SC 1st Battalion Infantry, first in Company B, later transferring to Company G. He enlisted on 4-1-1862. The National Archives confirms this, adding the unit was known as Galliard's Battalion. Both sources list him as J.Harvey (no mid initial).

"Broken Fortunes", unfortunately, also has a listing. He is there as J.T.Harvey (yes, mid initial T) a private of the 1st SCV, died in Richmond, Virginia and is in Oakwood Cemetery #12, Row R, Division C. This record is only in the Oakwood Cemetery archive.
