Just Venting

On July 4, 1826 two former American President died on the same day and on that very same day and year Stephen Foster was born in Pennsylvania. Now the famous composer's statue is being taken down for political correctness.

And at the Hermitage in Tennessee the tombstone of former President Andrew Jackson was defaced by a can of spray paint.

And the Indiana State Soldiers and Sailors Monument stands almost 300 feet tall and is massive and probably the most beautiful monument I've saw concerning the war. When I saw it hundreds of people were visiting and a few were singing and dancing and some waving American flags. My first thought when seeing all of these folks enjoying the monument was I wonder how many knew about Camp Morton and of the Confederate dead who had long been disinterred from their graves.

It seems like that statues in the South are constantly being attacked while some Union statues in the mid-west are still being held in high esteem.
