George, our opponents know if a local effort was made to make a sign and were destroyed or painted it would only cost the locals. However if it were a Federal sign usually in the color brown then the Federal government would be responsible for any damages to the sign and damages may be considered as a federal crime.

Vicksburg National Park has a Federal sign on I-20 indication where to turn to visit the Battlefield. I think Brice's Crossroads is also a Federal Park but don't know if they have a sign where it is located at off a highway.

Closer to home would be Beauvoir and it is listed as a United States National Historic Landmark but do they have Federal signs on Hwy 90 or I-10 indication where it is?

There are many places in Mississippi where a State or Federal sign might be allowed.

Your task would be to find out where the signs are and what measures you would have to take to allow the signs either State or Federal to be displayed.
