A woman named Sherry Harris has compiled a book and it also appears that Alabama also had a salt list. Accordingly the salt list did list the widow and children of the deceased soldier. It also appears there were about 106,000 entries for the salt list. It may provide to be a gold mine concerning genealogy in those respective States. Louisiana had a huge salt mine and I'm hoping Louisiana also had a salt list as well as surrounding states. This is one of those items that for the most part is not online but hopefully I've have the book or the CD.
